Our work / Incubator Programme

Arrive with a mission. Build the organisation to carry it.

A six-month certification programme, run one cohort at a time — Cohort 4 takes eight organisations at once. Professional support delivered inside your organisation.

Twenty organisations built, fifty by 2027 A colonnade of twenty columns rising left to right, one for each organisation ASPIRE has built. A turquoise column part-filled at the end of the row stands for the cohort currently in the programme, and a dark marker further right sets the fiftieth organisation as the 2027 target. The dotted ground between them is the distance still to go.

The transformation

ARRIVE → BUILD → LEAVE STRONGER

01

Arrive

Bring the mission.

The Incubator supports non-profits to build the organisational capacity behind their work. The programme runs for six months, one cohort at a time.

02

Build

Put the structure in place.

Business support

Build the systems and professional capability your organisation needs.

Governance training

Strengthen the governance behind your mission.

Board development

Develop the board that supports your organisation.

Fundraising strategy

Build a strategy for raising the resources to sustain the work.

03

Leave stronger

Carry the capability forward.

A board, financial systems and a fundraising strategy: capacity that stays within your organisation and supports the work beyond the programme.

ARRIVE / BUILD / LEAVE STRONGER describes the journey, not a fixed module schedule.

Connects to the wider model

Where the value comes from

We give expertise, not cheques

ASPIRE does not operate a grant-making programme. What we place into an organisation is professional time — given free by senior Barbadian professionals — and the systems that time leaves behind. This is what that time would have cost to buy.

1,800 hours of direct support across 20 organisations, plus 456 hours of programme design, selection and certification: 2,256 hours, valued at BBD 808,300 (USD 404,150). Each Standard is priced at the commercial rate for the profession that leads it, from BBD 250 an hour for creative work to BBD 500 for legal. Nobody is paid — this is what the time would have cost had ASPIRE bought it. Hours are estimated from the programme calendar pending our volunteers’ own records.
